The Appiano Estate is named after the main village on the Wine Road of Oltràdige. The countryside in the area is dominated by vineyards, old farmhouses and numerous ancient castles. The vineyards reach an elevation of 600 meters above sea-level and are some of the most special in South Tyrol. The Appiano Estate is located between the historical castles of Castel Moos, Castel Palù and Castel Lodrón. It has loamy calcareous soils with a high mineral content, which predestine them for the production of white wines. The climate is also ideal, with above-average differences in temperature between day and night. That gives our Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Bianco wines the freshness that is so important for these varieties.
