Ansitz Waldgries
First cited in a document dating back to 1242, the historic Waldgries Manor lies in the center of Santa Maddalena/St. Magdalena, making it one of the oldest wineries in the region. The small winery has been run by the Plattner family for almost 100 years. Today, Christian Plattner is the 3rd generation to realize his ideas: «Wines that reflect both this special place and my signature style.»

A special moment on my journey showed me that I wanted to concentrate on local grape varieties. And since that day, the focus at Ansitz Waldgries has been on the red wines on the indigenous grape varieties: Schiava, Lagrein, and Rosenmuskateller.
